Parents, remember saying these things? "Come over here," you demand. The response, "Why?" "Because I said so," you continue. And on it goes. "Why?" is such as powerful question. It's also timeless. Start asking "why?" like you did when of your Mum and Dad when you were three. But now ask it of yourself.
"Why?" gives you energy. When you know why you are working toward something, it's easier to stay committed when the going gets tough. When you have a reason for doing something, the work never seems as hard as it otherwise might. No just doesn't matter anymore - you know you'll get through it all and win those yeses - as long as you don't quit.
The next time you're deciding whether or not to take on a certain task, ask yourself "Why?" Why would you want to do it? What's your reason? Come up with a positive why for yourself, get started, and you'll find the task goes more quickly and doesn't seem as difficult. Your attitude will be contagious and attract others to you. Shift your attitude and home in on whatever target is beckoning your attention.
